This past Saturday I had the chance to interview Impact wrestling star Moose, prior to him heading off to the Coca Cola Roxy centre in Atlanta for a Fan meet and greet, where he was signing autographs and giving away free tickets ahead of Impact wrestling’s show there this weekend. We Spoke on his goals within Impact with regards to championships and Legacy of greatness that would help to elevate both the Impact brand as well as the Moose brand.
One of the main questions I asked was whether he had any intentions to challenge either Tessa or Taya for the world championship title, to which he responded that he did not want to be seen as opportunist and that he would only go after others who would be challenge to beat. He went on to say that all though he has great respect for Tessa, being the first female ever to hold the world title, and that she has worked her ass off to be in the position she is in and she deserves to at the top, he currently does not feel she would be a challenge to him. Due to being a true hybrid heavyweight he would not want the fans saying he only won the title due to his obvious power and size advantage. That there is difference in challenging someone like Austin Aires who is legend in Impact over challenging someone like Tessa who has only just begun to carve her own legacy. So what is next for Moose? He is currently more concerned with carrying on his own legacy at Impact. Moose wants to be seen as the guy who is able to defeat former legendary Impact Champions such as RVD who he has already defeated, Rhino who he recently defeated. Moose states he could easily defeat the likes of Tessa for Heavyweight title, or Ace Austin for the X division title but honestly what would that do for his legacy? He feels that it is much more impressive to defeat long standing legends from companies such as ECW and Impact rather than just fighting anybody to collect titles.
Keep an eye out for the next Team Venom Media Podcast where you’ll be able to hear the full length interview unedited. Where you'll hear us also talk about his football background, transitioning to wrestling, MMA stars making the transition to wrestling, spot monkeys, who Moose would lie to tag with and more.
