For the last few weeks since Slam Wrestling returned to releasing regular episodes of Slam TV: Pandemonium from a closed set, myself and Connor Franks have been fortunate enough to land an exclusive interview with a Slam Wrestling Superstar or personality every week for an episode of our smash hit podcast, Talking Trash with Team Venom.
On the first episode of our fourth season, we spoke to Slam's top guy, their Slam Heavyweight and X-Division Champion, Axel Carter. We spoke about his thoughts on Slam, OVW, the online shows and more and you can check that out here.
The following week, we were afforded an interview with Slam Wrestling's head of creative, Mr. Cliff Cox. Cliff spoke highly of the product and Slam's top prospects and went so far as to name Xavier Moss as someone to watch.
For the third week, we were joined by Xavier Moss - who Cliff had named as someone to watch the week prior - as well as our former contributor Andy More (Andy is still a part of the Team Venom family but is focusing on his own site and podcast series, Kuro Media). Xavier spoke to us regarding his first show in front of a live audience for Slam (He debuted for the company after the pandemic so has only just been able to experience the thrill of performing for a live audience).
These aren't the only episodes of the show to feature Slam Wrestling superstars - the new X-Division Champion Jay Skies joined us for an episode during Season 1 (back in November 2019) and a few years ago we interviewed the fantastic Corey Johnson for our YouTube channel which you can check out below.
As someone who has previously competed in the ring myself, I consider Slam my "Home Promotion" as their training camp is second to none in the UK and it is incredibly easy to see why the legendary Al Snow decided to incorporate them into his own network of wrestling academies a few years ago and continues to work with them as a UK extension of Al Snow's OVW.
I am also incredibly proud to announce that myself and my podcast broadcast partner, Connor Franks, will be joining the Slam Wrestling family as their new commentators as of October 3rd 2020. Incidentally I have been a wrestler, manager and referee for Slam in the past but having the opportunity to commentate alongside one of my best friends in and outside of the business may already top all of my previous Slam experiences, so I'd like to finish this column off with a genuine, heartfelt, thank you to Slam Wrestling. See you on October 3rd!
