Why Tessa Blanchard is a Trail Blazer in Impact Wrestling

Updated: Nov 8, 2019

In the run up to the 2019 edition of Bound For Glory, the newest member of Team Venom Media - Connor Franks - had the following to say about one of Impacts top starts walking into this year's event...

Tessa Blanchard, the daughter of former four horseman member and current manager in All Elite Wrestling Tully Blanchard, has been on a metioric rise since leaving WWE's development program. Signing with WoW (women of Wrestling) where she confronted then WoW World Champion Santana Garrett and would soon win the the Title.

Blanchard signed with Impact Wrestling and would make her first appearance at the Impact Pay

Per View Redemption in April 2018 where she would join the commentary team during the match between Keira Hogan and Taya Valkyrie and it only took until August for her to capture the Impact Knockouts Championship which she would hold for 147 days before losing the title to Valkyrie thanks to an attack from Impact Hall of Famer Gail Kim.

The Attack lead to a passing of the torch match between Blanchard and Kim with the Former picking up the win at Redemption 2019. at Slammiversary XVII Blanchard would face Sami Callihan making history as the first intergender wrestling match to Main Event an Impact Pay Per View, with Bound for Glory 2019 coming up Tessa is set to compete in a multi man ladder match for the X division championship and sami callihan is set to face Brian Cage for the World Championship.

Impact could be on track for some of the best long term story telling we've had in the wrestling world for some time.

If both Tessa and Sami win their respected matches some point down the line Tessa could cash in "Option C" meaning she could Vacate the X Division Championship for a shot at the Impact World Championship, this would be huge as not only would this be the perfect wrap up to the Tessa/Sami Rivalry, it would also make Tessa Blanchard the first female Impact World Champion in history, Tessa won the 2018 Knockout of the Year and in my Opinion its almost certain she'll win it again this year
