Top 5 "Most Played" PS4 Games

Hey folks, you may have seen my top 5 Marvel and DC videogame columns, if not you can check the Marvel one out here and the DC one here. Since I enjoyed writing those, I figured I'd stick a weekly top 5 videogamey-type column. This week is my most played PS4 games. Next week I'll tackle Xbox One titles. Here we go!

Honourable mentions: Adventure Capitalist, Fallout: Shelter, Lego Marvel 2, Rogue Legacy, Race The Sun

#5. WWE 2K19

As a die-hard wrestling fan, I have regularly purchased every new WWE game on launch week for the last 20 years. I'd then customise the hell out of it thanks to their ever-evolving creation suite. That is, however, until WWE 2K20 came out. Since 2K20 was a broken mess whereas 2K19 was the best in the series (each title would come along in leaps and bounds until 2K20), I have ended up playing 2K19 waaay more than usual. Thankfully, the online servers are still live so I've been able to download the entire Impact roster!

#4. Spider-Man

This, along with the Final Fantasy VII Remake, is pretty much the whole reason to play a PS4 over an Xbox One. The mechanics are great, the unlockable suits are great, the graphics are great, the story is great, the game is just... great! I can see why everyone's upset that Spidey is going to be a PS4 exclusive for the upcoming Avengers game, to which I say: "Trade in your Xbox! Get a PS4! Buy Spider-Man to prepare!"

#3. Final Fantasy VII

I've been playing this game annually since 1997. So that's 23 years at time of writing. The story, gameplay and entire aspect of this game are pretty much perfect and I've not found anything as good since 1997. Each time I pick up another FF title I find myself wanting to play 7 for comparison and nostalgic purposes - Even with the remake! There is one exception to that rule that I'll get to later but this game is pretty much gaming perfection and if you haven't played it yet then, goddammit, you should definitely pick it up as soon as possible!

#2. Final Fantasy VII Remake

This was great. As mentioned on the previous entry, FF7 is pretty much my standard bearer for RPGs and I have a huge fondness for the story. The remake is great but only covers a portion of that story (essentially half of the first disc) but expands on a hell of a lot of that portion of the game. It's great getting to know Biggs, Wedge and Jessie but also sad knowing what fate awaits them. The graphics and visuals are perfect on this. Any fans of the original should play this just for the expansion in lore!

#1. Final Fantasy X HD Remake

Earlier in this list I mentioned that there was one exception to the rule of any FF game making me want to play 7. That exception is FFX. In fact, certain entries in the series make me nostalgic for FFX. The storyline, visuals, characters and soundtrack to this game are as close to perfection as you can get from what was originally a ps2 title. As much love as I have for Cloud and FF7, I probably have more love for FFX and the tragedy of Tidus and Yuna. This game was paired with FFX-2 but the less said about that the better!

So that's my list, thanks for taking the time to read it and please let me know what your top 5 are in the comments section!
