Top 5 Current Impact Wrestling Stars (King Rorsters Court)

Updated: Nov 26, 2018

Greetings folks and welcome to the latest edition of King Rorster's Court. For this week's edition if KRC, I thought I'd take a look at the current landscape of Impact Wrestling following Bound For Glory and spotlight who I believe to be the top stars in Impact at present.

#5. Sami Callihan

Sami has continued to impress ever since his debut with the company and has had some brutal confrontations throughout the year. His encounters with Eddie Edwards and, more recently, Jimmy Havoc (at the Impact vs. UK event held in Manchester back in September) have been a genuine treat for anyone who's a fan of hard-core wrestling. Most recently, Callahan and oVe picked up the win against former World Heavyweight Champion Pentagon Jr, Rey Fenix and current X-Division champion, Brian Cage, at Bound For Glory with an impending title bout between himself and Cage on the horizon. Sami's whole presence in Impact screams "Main Eventer" so the future is looking very promising for him right now.

#4. Tessa Blanchard

Tessa Blanchard was impressive when she appeared in the WWE's inagraul Mae Young Classic tournament and everyone assumed that she would have been instantly signed to the 'E as a result. Instead she shocked the world by signing to Impact and instantly begun having fantastic matches with anyone put in front of her. At this year's Bound For Glory event she walked in as the Knockouts Champion and walked out as the Knockouts Champion, thus cementing herself as the face of the division.

#3. LAX (Ortiz and Santana)

So, a year ago I had no interest in this iteration of LAX. I loved that Konnan was back but as a fan of Hernadez and Homicide, I couldn't get into the idea of these two new guys filling their shoes. Over the past year or so, these two have continuously put on great tag matches and showed exactly why Impact gave them that name. Not only that but they proved themselves over and over as one of the top teams in the business but still, that stigma of not being the "true" LAX was there. Thankfully, the OGz (Homicide and Hernandez) returned to put them over and pass the torch in a huge rivalry that seemingly culminated at Bound For Glory, so it will interesting to see where they go from here

#2. Tie: Eddie Edwards and Moose

Eddie and Moose have had one of the most compelling storylines on Impact over the last 12 months. They started off as best friends and when the both got taken put with injuries Moose started to feel bitter that his friend wasn't there for him (despite Eddie being injured and out of action himself). At Bound For Glory, their feud only seemed to intensify and with the following week's impact seeing Moose and Killer Cross decimate Eddie's friend, Tommy Dreamer, I can see this rivalry carrying on for at least another couple of months.

#1. Johnny Impact

There couldn't really be anyone else at the #1 spot could there? Johnny Impact captured the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of this year's Bound For Glory during a fantastic match with Austin Aries (who never disappoints in a big match situation). Folliwing this he put the whole locker room on notice, stating that he wanted to be a fighting champion and proving that by successfully defending the title against Fenix. Johnny Impact has been one of the guys that people often say should have been a World Champion by now and, well, he is.

I get this list is a few months old now but I'd say Cage and Drake should be on there
