MLW Superfight PPV preview

Should we be looking forward to Superfight, the first ever PPV from MLW? The answer to this question is a simple yes, yes we should be. This Card is beginning to look great from top to bottom. Let’s take a look at the card Match by Match. Pre Show starts at 11:00 PM BST, and will be available to the UK on Fite, Facebook and YouTube

Stairway to Hell Match

Triple Threat

Mance Warner Vs Bestia 666 Vs Jimmy Havoc

This all started when Mance Warner was at war with Promociones Dorado with Mance having Hardcore Matches with each of the 2 other opponents the feud between Jimmy and Mance then continued on in recent weeks Jimmy has seemingly turned his back on Promociones Dorado angering Salina De La Renta who used her powers to add Bestia 666 to the previous scheduled one on one match. Expect this Match to be violent I have no Idea what a Stairway to hell Match is but knowing the participants there will be blood. I’m not a big fan of Hardcore Wrestling but it has its place and this is it on PPV to bring an end to a feud. I see Mance Warner picking up the win here he is future star on MLW and we should see the end of Jimmy Havoc on MLW as he moves over to AEW full time.

Singles Match

Low Ki Vs Bryan Pillman Jr

This is the most recent match added to the card and has not much build up as such, bar Low Ki attempting to give Pillman Jr some advice after his (Pillman) loss to Austin Aries followed by Pillman then Mocking the advice given. I feel that this match is being used to set up a future programme between Teddy Hart and Low Ki for the middleweight title. I see Low Ki coming away with the victory after hard fought fight, a possible hand shake snub at the end of the match will likely infuriate Low Ki maybe leading to post match bust up. Then fellow Hart Foundation member Teddy Hart will attempt rescue his stable mate Pillman leading to future match. Despite this match being here just to create a future story line it still be a great match between an old school pro in Low Ki and last years Rookie of the Year Pillman Jr.

Tag Title Match

Texas Tornado Tag Match

The Dynasty (Tag Team Champions) Maxwell Jacob Freeman (MJF) and Richard Holliday Vs The Von Erichs - Marshal and Ross Von Erich

The Dynasty are a great team they may still be a little green in the ring but they both are absolute gold delivering a promo and they both have such smug faces and attitudes it is easy to love to hate them. The Von Erichs on the other hand look great in the ring as you would expect being 3rd Generation but not so great at delivering a promo. This should be classic old school match with distinct heels and faces, I feel the Dynasty will provide great heat on delivering strong despicable heel behaviour before the Von Erichs deliver a hot face comeback. I think the Von Erichs will pick up the win here with MJF being another wrestler likely to be moving to MLW fulltime. I really think AEW will miss a beat if does not pick up the rest of Dynasty stable to join MJF.

Middleweight Title Match

Singles Match

Teddy Hart Vs Austin Aries

Two Old School Pros who are just going to put on one hell of a show, these two guys are the definition of a middleweight, light heavy weight, X division or what ever you would like to call them. Both these guys have had their own separate issues throughout there careers but that does not that they’re not great in the ring they both are. Expect great innovation, superb high flying, excellent execution of technique and of course some down right gritty brawling, it will hopefully have it all. Austin made it clear from day 1 he wanted the middleweight title and has since added some extra spice costing Teddy Hart the tag team titles and injuring him in the process. I believe Teddy Hart will win this match and go on to feud with Low Ki as mentioned earlier.

6 Man Tag Match

Injustice featuring Myron Reed, Jordan Oliver and Koto Brazil Vs Gringo Loco, Septimo Dragon and Puma King

The three members of injustice having been nothing but trouble for poor Gringo Loco in a variety of single and tag matches leading up to this another 6 man tag. This match will just another on the list I expect this will likely open the show. I am sure this will be fast pace Lucha style match Gringo Loco can do some great things for man of his size. Injustice are all good individuals Koto being the stand out for the team I see them coming away with the W due to some under hand tactics. Quite honestly this match will not be 5 star classic its just here to make up the numbers but should be fun none the less.

National Open Weight Title Match

Singles Match

Alexander Hammerstone (Champion) Vs Davey boy Smith Jr

What can I say about this match up, there will be no high spots, this won’t be pretty, this is two absolute heavyweights who will just go to war with each other. This storyline has been quite low key. A quiet build that also involves Smith’s sisters so expect that angle to play in somewhere during this match. Both men are being built as undefeated leading into this, this will be as good ol’ J.R would say a slober knocker. Hammerstone is likely to come away with the victory due to Smiths Sister interfering.

Singles match

Timothy Thatcher Vs Filthy Tom Lawer

Much like the match above it this is two big men who are going to try and destroy each other although this match will be a bit more technical. A Simple build up all based on a challenge a simple call out, I like it no silly storyline. The match of course will be anything but simple- hard hitting technical moves and expect a lot of suplex’s as well as stiff shots. I think Thatcher will be the most likely victor. Lawler recently lost his heavywight title and I see them planning a possible loosing streak for Lawler, I’m not sure it will be clean and I believe Thatcher being an original member of RingKampf will see him building his own stable recently telling Douglas James to come train with him, will this play a factor?

Heavyweight title Match

Singles Match No DQ

Jacob Fatu Vs LA Park

LA Park has reinvented him self at MLW becoming what would be seen as non traditional Lucha, obviously he cannot perform as he once did due to his age, but he has adapted the same as Terry Funk and many others becoming a Hardcore Brawler, Salina De La Renta and Promociones Dorado’ s Destroyer. He’s up against Jacob Fatu, an absolute beast the Samoan Smashing Machine the man that dethroned Tom Lawler so he will need every bit of his new hardcore brawling style to try to compete with Jacob Fatu. We will see stiff shots and unadulterated violence with a few dives here and there. Jacob Fatu is incredible agile, fast, athletic and an absolute smashing machine as his nick named suggests. I am at a loss at who will come out on top here, my head says Fatu but my gut says Park.

Overall this is a PPV to look forward to I would put this card right up there as one of the Best PPVS this year and will be well worth buying. I hope everyone will enjoy I know I will.
