MLW Is Returning With Project Restart

Major League Wrestling (MLW) is finally returning to action, after several teases from the MLW roster and staff over the last month, MLW is officially set to come back. They have not run a show since March, with their last taped show taking place in Mexico for the MLW x AAA Super Series. Due to the global health crisis, MLW made the choice to cease operations until it could ensure the safety of its staff and performers.

MLW.com had reported that they had been scouting locations for project restart, noting that they were looking into six undisclosed locations that included Boston, California, the Mid West and even an Island. It has now been confirmed they have now found a location that can help meet all the required safety protocols to stop the spread of covid 19 ensuring the safety of everyone involved.

Court Bauer spoke exclusively with Justin Barrasso of sports illustrated with regards to the Project restart, where he revealed that they will be airing fresh content as of November, with the shows taping to take place at an unrevealed location somewhere on the east coast.

Court Bauer told Justin about the planned return

“We’ll air in November on a week night at prime time on Fubo Sports Network, and our content will also be available on DAZN, which includes exclusive content, and Saturday nights on beIN. As for the filming, we’re not going to publicly announce our location. If fans were to show up, it would just cause a wave of complications with the COVID protocol, but we are very excited to return for our fans.”

With regards to starting taping once again the safety of all its staff and roster members is paramount, so they will be of course meeting the safety standards and protocols set by the State athletic commission as well as those put in place by the State itself. On top of this MLW will be initiating their own safety protocols, which will include regular testing as they look to do their part in curbing the further spread of Covid 19;

Court Bauer on the extra safety protocols

"We're going to test before everyone gets on a plane, when they land, and then again during the tapings. We'll be cleaning the trucks and the set every day. We have a protocol to follow, and we will ensure that guidelines will be met to keep everyone safe. That will include scheduling, transportation, locker room social distancing, and wearing masks, which will apply for talent, staff, and production."

As part of these protocols the planned taping of shows will have no fans in attendance even going so far as to keep the location undisclosed as they do not want fans turning up which could jeopardise the safety protocols. However Court Bauer was confident and up beat in regards to putting on shows with no fans with MLW eager to show a more grittier shows with MMA vibes.

Court Bauer also discussed running shows with no fans

"We've had the luxury to see what works in this era. Our competitors have been forced due to contractual obligations to put programming on the air every night of the week. For us, from a creative perspective, we have been able to recharge, assess and determine the best way to move forward. That is really going to enhance our viewing experience."

Fans can expect to see all their favourite competitors from the Contra Unit, Dynasty, Injustice, Promociones Dorado, LA Park Familia, as well as the likes of Mance Warner, Logan Creed, Low Ki and many many more back in action. However their seems to be no update on either the Brian Pillman Jr or the Davey Boy Smith Jr situation, it is reported that Brian Pillman Jr is looking to get out of his current deal with MLW and it has also been reported that Davey Boy Smith was frustrated by his current deal.

Court Bauer on the roster upon returning

"We learned during this break who had our back, and I think people will be very surprised by what opportunities have been borne from that."

You can keep up to date with all the latest from the MLW roster with the MLW Pulp Fusion which is released on their YouTube channel every week, check out how the stars are preparing for the restart.
