Crunchyroll 2020 Anime Awards

This past weekend, Crunchyroll held their annual Anime Awards, the awards were presented live on Crunchyroll.com. Crunchyroll is a premiere streaming service for Anime founded in 2006, they have been holding annual Anime Awards since 2017. Judges choose the nominations for each categories and the public vote for the Winner online. 2019 was an amazing year for Anime, with so many great new shows as well as new seasons of established shows, so with that said lets look at this years winners;

Anime of the Year: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

Best Animation: Mob Psycho 100 II

My Thoughts

Demon Slayer did extremely well this year, I have read the Manga but have not started the Anime yet, due to it not being Dubbed, but I think I may just have to watch it anyway looking at the results. Rising of the shield hero is one of my favorite new series, I cannot wait for season 2, Billy Kametz does an amazing job voicing Naofumi, really helps to gain sympathy for the character. Dr Stone is amazing series, Senku is an amazing character, so happy he won best protagonist. My fiancee has been trying to get me to watch Promised Neverland for a while now, as she reads the Manga and loves it, so I will be checking that out in the next couple of days. Anime has never been hotter than it is now, so many great shows and so many streaming sites to watch them on.

In previous years Crunchyroll has just had an award for Best Anime, this year they introduced categories for each genre, which I think is a much better way of doing it. I will defiantly be checking out KAGUYA-SAMA: LOVE IS WAR as I love a good slice of life Anime comedy.
