The Six-Step Process is a regular interview that we ran on both the Team Venom website and Team Venom Magazine and will run on this website on a regular basis. Basically we ask the same 6 questions in a kind of “quick-fire” interview with a random top independent talent. This week’s 6-Step is with one of ROH and the US indie scene's top stars, Shane Taylor.
1. What got you into wrestling?
The moment that got me into wrestling was going with my father to a show at the Richfield Coliseum, I saw Kerry Von Erich vs the Warlord. It went to a double count out, & I watched the building LOSE THEIR MINDS, & I said to myself, I want to be able to have that kind of effect on people.
2. What’s been your favourite experience so far?
My favorite experience in wrestling so far is getting to work for Ring of Honor in the 2300 arena in Philadelphia. The history, the atmosphere, the platform was phenomenal and I was incredibly excited to be there & to perform at that level.
3. Where has been your favourite place to work so far?
The 2300 arena in Philadelphia and Sam's Town Live in Las Vegas
4. What would be your dream scenario?
My dream scenario, would be somehow CAPTURING the Ring of Honor World Championship in my hometown of Cleveland Ohio. To have all of my friends and family there to witness me achieve an almost ten year goal that has taken me all over the world, & away from them. To have them there for that would be phenomenal.
5. Who have been your favourite people to work with?
I'm an intense competitor & I enjoy throwing hands with those that match that intensity, War Machine (Ray Rowe and Hansen) are two competitors that I love fighting along with The Briscoes (Mark & Jay) who are the measuring stick of ROH.
6. What does the future hold for you?
My goals for the future are to continue to learn, grow, & develop as a performer. Also to one day, have a legacy that surpasses everyone else's in Ring of Honor, I want those three letters & my name to be synonymous. The ROH World Championship, The Tag Team Championships, The Television Championship, & The 6 man Tag Championships are all goals that I want to achieve!
