An Interview With Paul Malen - The Six Step Process

A few years back, the Team Venom boys started a regular interview called The Six Step Process, where they asked the same six questions to each wrestler. Recently Rory caught up with Johnny Concrete to see what had changed since the original interview. Following on from that, I thought I would ask the Aspire guys and gals the same questions.

I decided to start with Aspire's own head trainer Paul Malen.

1. What got you in to wrestling?

For as long as I can remember I have ALWAYS been a fan. I'm talking from the age of 5. My parents didn't like it so would do everything to steer me away from it. It didn't work though

2. What’s been your favourite experience so far?

Getting to work with some of my childhood heroes, from Tommy Dreamer, Shane Douglas, Tatanka and James Storm. There's many more. But now getting to share my expertise with talented people wanting to be professional wrestlers and teaching children from a very young age. Would never have imagined doing that but I find it very rewarding and I love it.

3. Where has been your favourite place to work so far?

I used to love the old LCW. A rabid and loyal audience. Reminds me of the Aspire audience now!

4. What would be your dream scenario?

I would love to wrestle Jushin Thunder Liger. Also I would really like to be a part of WOS or WWE UK one day.

5. Who have been your favourite people to work with?

There are quite a few. Tag team wise it was always The Hunter Bros. Martin Kirby, and as of recent DDA and Ronon.

6. What does the future hold for you?

I am enjoying being a big part of Aspire. Teaching and helping build something special with everyone involved, I want that to keep running from strength to strength. I took a little bit of time from wrestling full time for a few reasons but I would like to get out on the UK scene again. Test myself and aim for either WOS or WWE UK. Time will tell I guess. Thank you

Thank you Paul for taking the time to be a part of the Six Step Process.
