An Interview with Lizzy Styles (The Six Step Process)

The Six-Step Process is a regular interview that we ran on both the Team Venom website and Team Venom Magazine and will run on this website on a regular basis. Basically we ask the same 6 questions in a kind of “quick-fire” interview with a random top independent talent. This week’s 6-Step is with one of the UK's top female competitors, Lizzy Styles.

1. What got you into wrestling?

When I was younger I would always be watching WWE and any wrestling related programmes on the TV. One night I was spoken to by a girl who happened to train at a local place by mine and she gave me a flyer/leaflet with the address and email and everything included, she told me they ran regularly every Saturday morning and then I built up the courage to become a trainee.

2. What’s been your favourite experience so far?

I've had a few, I started doing summer camps last year, and before I got that chance I wasn't really working for many companies or travelling. This gave me the experience and having a match or two everyday helps you build your wrestling up. My biggest favourite experience was having the opportunity to fly to Japan where I was scheduled to stay for three months. That is definitely an experience I won't forget, travelling to Japan so young was scary and was always one of my biggest goals as a wrestler and to say I have been and done it is a good feeling.

3. Where has been your favourite place to work so far?

I wrestle a lot for megaslam wrestling, they are a touring company who I travel with more or less most of the time. We have the best team at megaslam and it's always a laugh and fun. My favourite country would be Japan because its different and I learned a lot from it, I can't choose who is my favourite though. Being with megaslam a lot draws me to that because there family crowds and I love the story's we can talk about afterwards. I wrestle for a company called Just Do which is based in St. Helens and I love working there too.

4. What would be your dream scenario?

To be signed to WWE one day, or travelling the world full time doing wrestling. At the minute I really want to work for shimmer/Shine wrestling. I'm dying for that opportunity.

5. Who have been your favourite people to work with?

Female wise, I've wrestled a few but my favourite because there one of my closest people and I really love them is Nadia Sapphire. My very first outside booking was against Nadia and ever since then she's always been the person I love most. I also loved wrestling with Nightshade, shes my favourite person to have a wrestle with. She doesn't get much credit or noticed but she's really good and I enjoy wrestling her. Male wise, I've wrestled a guy called Peter pumpkin, one of the nicest people in and out of the ring, he's so genuine and he's such a good wrestler. One of My favourite matches was against him. Another one is CJ Banks!!! He's been wrestling for so long and he really Is one of the best there is, just watching him wrestling in the ring is enough to make you learn something. My other favourite match was against him.

6. What does the future hold for you?

I have no idea!! I want to continue wrestling for as long as I possibly can, and make it what I do full time one day. Of course the goal is to be signed with WWE, but for now I'm enjoying wrestling were I am and who I wrestle for, I'm having fun and I can't wait to see what the future holds.
