The Six-Step Process is a regular interview that we ran on both the Team Venom website and Team Venom Magazine and will run on this website on a regular basis. Basically we ask the same 6 questions in a kind of “quick-fire” interview with a random top British talent. This week’s 6-Step is with one of the UK's top up-and-comers, Katey Harvey.
1. What got you into Wrestling?
I've always watched it, it was a big thing to watch WCW every week when I was younger. I also attended a lot of local shows by NWA Ireland, which featured Fergal Devitt (Finn Balor) and Becky Lynch starting out. I started training after my friend and I started making a documentary about Irish wrestling when we were in film school - we both decided to give it a go and the documentary never got made!
2. Favourite match so far?
The fatal four way in Pro Wrestling Ulster against Lauren LaRoux, Viper and Pollyanna. I took risks like dives I wouldn't normally take and it paid off. I won the first every Irish women's title and many people were calling it match of the night.
3. Who has been your favourite opponent?
Oh I've a few - I train with Siren and Danger Dawn so that's always fun. I love wrestling Pollyanna too, she's so good. I love the odd inter gender match too!
4. What's been your favourite town to work in?
Belfast, for Pro Wrestling Ulster. Great venue, great roster, great shows. The girls are really given time and opportunity there to develop and it's a great atmosphere. I also love the Goban, a small pub in Kildare where Fight Factory Pro Wrestling runs over 18s shows. Different feeling than an all ages show - anything can happen.
5. If you could work with anyone who would it be?
I have a long list! Thinking big, I love the NXT girls, Charlotte and Bayley in particular. I wrestled Becky Lynch before she headed to America in a mixed tag, I'd love a singles match. In the UK the Scottish girls are killing it at the moment. Gail Kim or Melina would be other dream matches.
6. What does the future hold for you?
I'm just going to keep working hard and taking any opportunity I can. I'm lucky enough to have a lot of dates planned for the summer to keep me busy.
