An Interview with Joe Lando - The Six Step Process

The Six Step Process is a regular feature that we've been running since the site began wherein we ask the same set six questions to a top up and coming indie star. This feature has also spotlighted several competitors and personalities that have since hit the big-time. For this week's column, we're going to be talking to someone who - at least to me - had an absolutely phenomenal match at Wrestle Gate Pro's debut show (which you can read about here), Joe Lando.

1. What got you into wrestling?

It never used to appeal to me in my early childhood. However, my brother brought it into the house when I was 11 and at first I hated it but I suppose it grew on me. I remember taking a liking to Kofi Kingston when I first became a fan.

2. What’s been your favourite experience so far?

My favourite experience so far would 100% be getting a standing ovation at Wrestle Gate Pro’s debut show. It meant the world to me and I couldn’t have imagined anything like it.

3. Where has been your favourite place to work so far?

I enjoy working anywhere and everywhere so it’s an unfair question, haha. Wrestle Gate Pro was the biggest event I’ve been a part of though and it’s always a pleasure to fly out to Italy to wrestle for Rising Sun or FCW!

4. What would be your dream scenario?

A match with Ethan Sliver.

5. Who have been your favourite people to work with?

Tough one! I’d have to say Maverick Mayhew, we’ve worked numerous times and every single time I can learn something new from him! That being said, we’ve still never had a singles match. Someone please make that happen!

6. What does the future hold for you?

Hopefully lots of good things! It’s hard to tell though as so much can change in such a short amount of time! I’d love to work with some of the bigger promotions here in UK as A2A with Harrison. From there I want to keep travelling abroad and spreading the name. My main goal from wrestling is to make it my living so if I can achieve that, then I’m a happy boy!
