The Six-Step Process is a regular interview that we ran on both the Team Venom website and Team Venom Magazine and will run on this website on a regular basis. Basically we ask the same 6 questions in a kind of “quick-fire” interview with a random top independent talent. This week’s 6-Step is with one of the indie scene's top stars, Eric Emanon.
1. What got you into wrestling?
My grandfather actually got me into wrestling with WCW in the late 90's just as the Attitude Era was starting. I fell in love with the sport, the characters, I found myself every Monday night anxiously waiting the start or RAW and flipping between that and NITRO when commercials would come on. What a time to be alive. Haha.
2. What’s been your favourite experience so far?
My whole career has been such an insane roller-coaster of emotions and experiences. I've been on shows with guys like Al Snow and Jerry Lynn to guys like Dreamer and Hacksaw and plenty of others in between. My favorite experiences though are being able to sit down and just pick the minds of those who came before me. Their stories are always amazing and the experiences they share are unique to them so you never really get the same story twice.
3. Where has been your favourite place to work so far?
The Sanctuary Stunt Studio in Hazelton, Pennsylvania. It's a company that was built inside of a church by a brilliant mind known as Jon Patrick Trosky. The place is just mind blowing when you walk in. Second to that is In Your Face Wrestling in Albany, NY. I've been given the pleasure and opportunity to work some awesome people there which included former nWo member Scott Norton who was managed by Kevin Nash. That was a rad moment for me.
4. What would be your dream scenario?
Dream Scenario? It would have to be getting the call to work for the WWE and being brought to the performance center to train. I want to be in the big show someday, ya know? I dream of Wrestlemania. I dream of working the big time. Honestly, with the Cruiserweight tournament going on, guys like me have a better chance than ever before to get in. Just a matter of standing out and being able to make a name for yourself.
5. Who have been your favourite people to work with?
My favorite people to work with have been my brothers (and sister) in the Indy Card Mafia. We travel the road together, push each other to get better and want to see each and every one of us grow as a person and as a worker. Without them, there is no me.
6. What does the future hold for you?
Ya know, I'm not sure what it holds for me. Hopefully success and happiness. But I'm just living in the now and enjoying every little bit of it. I want to go to Japan and the UK soon for wrestling. I just want to travel the world with my best friends doing what I love.
