An Interview with Clint Margera (The Six Step Process)

The Six-Step Process is a regular interview that we ran on both the Team Venom website and Team Venom Magazine and will run on this website on a regular basis. Basically we ask the same 6 questions in a kind of “quick-fire” interview with a random top independent talent. This week’s 6-Step is with one of the UK’s top stars, Clint Margera.

1. What got you into wrestling?

Watching Wrestlemania 8 when I was a kid. I 100% bought into the whole thing from start to finish. Bret Hart vs Roddy Piper from that show is one of my favourite matches ever.

2. What’s been your favourite experience so far?

Without a doubt being able to wrestle in Japan and appearing at Korakuen Hall was an amazing experience. That place is full of wrestling history as everybody well knows.

3. Where has been your favourite place to work so far?

Everyone knows that Fight Club: PRO is where I came from. It's the first place that allowed me to work the way I wanted. They really let me run with the Hardcore/Death matches and they give me the chance to go up against some awesome talent at the same time.

Kamikaze PRO in Birmingham has also afforded me a similar opportunity in a slightly more "family friendly" environment which I am very grateful for. Recently, I've also worked for IPW:UK which has been loads of fun and I hope to work with them a lot more in the future.

4. What would be your dream scenario?

Easy, TOURNAMENT OF DEATH.

5. Who have been your favourite people to work with?

Jimmy Havoc has been the main guy in British wrestling who I wanted to go up against for obvious reasons. I love fighting Jimmy and learn something every time I do. I just can't wait for him to recover fully so we can beat the crap out of each other again.

Another guy would definitely have to be Chris Brookes. We have very different wrestling styles but sometimes that makes for a better chemistry. We recently had a match at EWA in High Wycombe which I'd say is my favourite time facing him.

6. What does the future hold for you?

See the answer to question four. It's the Wrestlemania of Death match wrestling! Apart from that, to work as many places as possible so if any promoters fancy having me on their shows, please get in touch.
