An Interview with Burchill (The Six Step Process)

The Six-Step Process is a regular interview that we ran on both the Team Venom website and Team Venom Magazine and will run on this website on a regular basis. Basically we ask the same 6 questions in a kind of “quick-fire” interview with a random top British talent. This week’s 6-Step is with one of HOPE's main players, Burchill.

1. What got you into Wrestling?

I was working at a local football club coaching football, and it was in a small sports complex above Notts County football club shop, The manager of the sports complex at the time was the heavyweight house of pain Stixx. It was unbeknown to me that he was a professional wrestler, we spoke on many occasions but wrestling never came up into conversation. As I got to know Stixx more I became aware of his training school and the fact that he was a professional wrestler. He said to me because I was a good size bloke would I fancy trying wrestling ! I said sure why not and luckily I took to it like a duck to water. So I owe Stixx a lot for training me and giving me the opportunity to follow my dream.

2. What has been your favourite match so far?

My favourite matches so far I would say I have two, The first one was against Joseph Connors at rebel pro wrestling for the rebel pro wrestling heavyweight title. The second would be against bubblegum at United wrestling earlier on this year. I learnt a lot from both wrestlers and learnt how to conduct myself inside and outside the ring in a professional way.

3. Who has been your favourite opponent to work with?

My favourite opponent without question is Paul Malen the guy is phenomenal he works his ass off every time he is in the ring and he always brings his a game when it’s me versus him, and he always brings the best out of me. I think Paul is the most diverse wrestler in the UK.

4. What’s been your favourite town to work in?

To be honest I would have to say Stoke as for me it’s the only regular venue that I attend apart from hope wrestling which is based in Mansfield.

5. If you could work with anyone who would it be?

In all honesty there are a plethora of wrestlers that I would love to go one-on-one against, Martin Kirby, Grado, Jack Jester, Robbie X to name but a few.

6. What does the future hold for Burchill?

For me the future is to attain the HOPE heavyweight title, I personally would like to appear on well-known shows such as ICW, Rev Pro, Progress and PCW to name but a few.
