AEW have signed a new TV deal with Warner Media for 4 years, which will see AEW Dynamite through till 2023. The New Deal will also see AEW launch a second show meaning AEW will be on TNT twice a week, unfortunately for UK viewers there is no news on whether ITV will be picking up the second show as yet. It is being reported by Dave Meltzer of the wrestling observer, that the new deal is approx $45 Million per year (Approx £34.5 Million), $185 Million in total (Approx. £141.5 million), this is approximately a whopping $882,300.00 (£675,135.96) per episode. This comes of the back of fantastic viewer ratings which were much higher than predicted and they are currently winning the Wednesday nights against NXT.
Opinion
This is fantastic news for wrestling fans around the world, even if you have not really enjoyed what we have seen so far from AEW. With a second show it is hugely likely that we will see another mass signing of independent talent to help fill both shows. One such talent rumoured to have signed is former Impact champion and former Lucha Underground Star, Brian Cage. Although they did miss out signing Marty Scurll, who recently re-signed with ROH which includes being a booker, he should help to smooth over some of the damage caused by the Elite that could see the two companies working together on projects.
