This week rumours started circulating around many wrestling media sites that the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) weekly YouTube show NWA Power would not be returning and that NWA is closing its doors. However this is not true, yesterday evening NWA Owner, former Smashing Pumpkins front man William (Billy) Corgan tweeted a statement squashing any rumours that NWA is shutting down. This tweet has since been shared by the promotion’s top stars including current NWA Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis and NWA Womens champion Thunder Rosa.
NWA has been one of the companies heavily affected by the global health crisis, having not run a show since the 26th of January, although the NWA did continue to put out weekly content for their YouTube channel in place of their weeky show NWA Power. However this came to end when the NWA vice president Dave Lagana was implicated during the speaking out movement having allegations of sexual assult made against him by Lizzie Savage, as such he decided to voluntarily step away from his role in the NWA by handing in his resignation.
Rumours of the NWA closing their doors started when former ECW/WWE/TNA star Raven appeared on the Hannibal TV YouTube series, where the two discussed his former working relationship working with NWA owner Billy Corgan and if he saw himself working for NWA again in the future. Raven responded by saying that he was unsure about the future of the NWA noting that Billy Coragan had become disillusioned by the recent events surrounding wrestling.

The statement made by Billy Corgan, has come as great news to NWA fans, many in particular enjoyed the old school feel of the NWA events. However although the statement clearly states NWA is not closing it’s doors there was no mention of their weekly YouTube show NWA Power and whether it will be returning.
