As we head into week 3 of the MLW x AAA Super Series the scores are tied 2 – 2, in the first match of the series Pagano and Ortiz picked up a win over Mance Warner and Savio Vega putting AAA 1 - 0 up, Alexander Hammerstone evened the score with a win against Laredo Kid. In week 2 Douglas James was in a hard fought battle with Averno, but ultimately lost. But MLW were again able to even the score when Team Filthy’s Tom Lawler and Dominic Garinni were able to defeat Puma King and Extreme Tiger. So it’s all square between the competitors of MLW and the Luchadors of AAA, this despite some quite obvious bias from the AAA referees who have been seen to use slow counts as well turning a blind every now and then in favour of the Luchadors. This week the Super Series will see Richard Holliday defend his stolen Caribbean title against Lucha Legend Chessman, we also have the battle of second generations as the Hart Foundation reunite Brian Pillman Jr and Davey Boy Smith Jr as they face of Against Los Mercenarios, Texano Jr and Rey Escorpion Jr.
Caribbean Title Match
No Disqualification Match
Champion Richard Holliday (MLW) Vs Chessman (AAA)
Straight into action this week, as Richard Holliday defends the Caribbean championship, a belt he never actually won but stole from Savio Vega, his Lawyer/Father is working on making the Championship belt official in MLW, he addresses the crowd in Spanish, before letting them know they are breathing rarefied air. Chessman interrupts and the match gets underway but not before Holliday reminds everyone to use hand sanitiser before they lock up. Chessman hits him with couple of big forearms followed by a drop kick knocking Holliday out the ring, as Chessman goes to hit a suicide dive but is met by a chair from Holliday, ironically it was Chessman that brought the chair to ring side. They brawl out ringside, Holliday cracks Chessman with the chair once more, puts him back in the ring and goes for the cover, but the AAA referee takes his sweet time getting into position to make the count, Chessman kicks out, Holliday has words with the referee. Holliday is in control, hitting Chessman with several big shots, as he sends Chessman into a corner, Chessman is able to baseball slide out the ring and Holliday follows, Chessman gets back into the ring quickly and catches Holliday with kick to the face as he tries to get back into the ring. Then chessman hits a suicide dive. Chessman starts to get some offence in hitting Holliday with chair shot, putting Holliday back in the ring he goes for the pin but Holliday kicks out. They both go to hit blows but both keep missing finally connecting with a double clothes line and both hit the mat. Holliday is up first and hits a twisting suplex neck breaker, goes for pin with a slow count and Chessman escapes. Chessman fires back with some quick shots, a huge single leg drop kick puts Holliday to the mat, Chessman hits a middle rope moonsault and goes to cover, Holliday again escapes. As Chessman looks to finish the match he heads all the way to the top rope, goes for a twisting Moonsault press, Holliday moves and Chessman crashes to the mat, Holliday lifts Chessman with Gut wrench power bomb, aptly named the Market crash as Chessman is brought crashing to mat one more time, and despite a slow count Holliday manages to get the pin fall victory and MLW take the lead for the first time 3 - 2.
This match was actually quite good, despite being a no DQ match there were only a couple of chair shots and the match never got out of hand. I was impressed with Chessman I thought he was just another ageing super star, hiding behind a No DQ matches because he can no longer wrestle like he used to do but he did great job working with the much younger Richard Holliday. Holliday is a super star, he looks like super star, he talks like a super star and he can wrestle, often over looked due to how good a promo MJF was and how big Hammerstone is, I think now he will start to get the respect he deserves if he keeps delivering good performances in the ring.

Back Stage Interview
Alicia Atout is back stage with Mance Warner, as he at first offers an apology to Alicia for ruining her Birthday Party, when he put Hammerstone’s face into her cake, this apology of course comes with light beer. After which he changes focus on to what he’s going to do next now that he sent MJF packing, talking about wanting to get some gold around his waist, after asking Alicia what title he should go for, she mentions that he should keep giving it to the Dynasty and take the Open Weight championship away from Alexander Hammerstone.
Promo
Alexander Hammerstone from his home in Phoenix Arizona responds to Mance Warner, he is sick and tired of fans who put people like Mance Warner on a pedestal, just because he’s relatable as a drunk, out of shape moron. He feels people should aspire for more, aspire to be more like him, a champion, a man who is in peak physical fitness, he will be happy to let Mance get a shot as his title but Mance should be careful what we wishes for, as in a match for his openweight championship he will not only beat him, but he will end him.
Promo
The Von Erich brothers have sent in a promo, from their amazing Hawaii compound, where they discuss team Filthy entering the tag team division, something they are more than happy to see as they can’t wait to get there hands on Team Filthy.
Back Stage Incident
A camera backstage has caught up with Low Ki who had attacked the members of team filthy and American Top Team as they were setting up for a press conference. Low Ki lets the camera man know that after the events in Philadelphia he had no choice but to act out his revenge for what they had done, he also lets them know this not over but only one strike of the war they started.
Next Week On MLW
Injustice members Myron Reed, Kotto Brazil and Jordan Oliver have a shot a the AAA Trio Tag Championship, when they face off against the current champions, El Hijo del Vikingo, Golden Magic a.k.a. Octagon Jr and Myzteziz Jr collectivly known as Jinetes Del Aire.
Main Event
Hart Foundation, Davey Boy Smith Jr and Brian Pillman Jr (MLW) Vs Los Mercinarios, Texano Jr and Rey Escorpion Jr (AAA)
As both teams are the ring, Los Mercinarios address the crowd and even though they are the home team, the crowd seem reluctant to cheer for them instead they are booing. As Pillman takes the Mic and begins to speak, he is quickly met with stiff shot to the face from Rey Escorpion, Davey boy retaliates by knocking Rey Escorpion out of the ring. The match now officially under way, Pillman and Texano lock up, they trade wrist locks and Pillman shows of his technical skills with some great reversals. Pillman is in control and looks to make a tag to Davey Boy but Texano pulls his hair as Davey Boy tries to tell the referee, he ends up causing a distraction and as the referee reprimands Davey Boy, Los Mercinarios uses this as an opportunity to double team Pillman. Pillman manages to recover and is able to tag Davey boy in to the match, they lift up Texano for a double suplex but Pillman just passes him off to Davey Boy, who shows off his impressive power with a stalling suplex, he goes for pin and with another slow count, Texano kicks out. Davey Boy tags Pillman in just as Injustice had made there way ring side, distracting Davey Boy who releases Texano from a wrist lock and Texano takes advantage by stunning Pillman, who had climbed to the top rope. Rey Escorpion then enters the ring without a tag and the Mercinarios start the double team on Davey Boy briefly taking him out, they turn their attention to Pillman still stunned on the top turnbuckle. This is when Los Mercianrios take advantage in the match, every time Davey Boy tries to enter the ring to help his partner he is stopped by the referee and Los Mercinarios continue to double team Pillman. In desperate effort Pillman is able to fight back and make the tag but the referee does not allow it as he did not see it, Los Mercinarios go for a double team once again, but Pillman escapes he hits the two of them with a diving cross body and finally makes the tag. Davey Boy enters the ring like a man on fire, reigning down blows on both members of Los Mercinarios, a double clothesline knocks them both out of the ring, Pillman then enters the ring and dives over the top rope crashing into the both of them on the outside. Pillman throws Texano Jr back into the ring and Davey Boy sets him up for their version of the Hart Attack made famous by the original Hart Foundation, however their version includes Pillman using a springboard clothesline, Davey Boy then hits a Jack knife cover and is able to pick up the win. MLW now lead 4 – 2 will AAA be able to make a come back next week.
This was a good tag team match, I love tag team wrestling and this was a great example of traditional tag team wrestling, the use of Bias officiating allowed Los Mercinarios to cheat and double team through out the match. Los Mercianrios were good, I would like to see more of them they have great look both weighing over 200 lbs, they were agile, powerful and worked excellently as team. Pillman and Davey Boy were also on point for this match, Pillman Sold brilliantly and you could believe Davey Boy was getting frustrated on the apron, when he did get in ring following a great hot tag, he cleared the ring as the power house of the team, excellent finish to the match using the Hart Attack finisher.

Final Thoughts
Two good matches this week I cannot really say more than that, the promos from Mance Warner and Hammerstone were great keeping the feud going, I cannot wait to see the two clash. Low Ki made brief appearance and teased about bringing in a couple friends to help take on Team Filthy if was to guess I believe he was referring to Eddie Kingston and Homicide but we’ll have to wait see. I really like the underlying story we have seen in every match so far, with regards to AAA referees showing bias towards the AAA Luchadors just adds an extra layer to what has already been a great Super Series so far. It was another short run time this week, and there were not as many video packages as you would usually see, this week the time was given to Tag Team main event and they certainly put good use to that time.
